Here's to the 1st actual post of this blog! This will only be temporary as we will be putting literati Inc.'s blog under a different account once the layout and content are more "stable", as quoted by member Steph T.

The main page should have informed you of this blog's main purpose: reviews.

But reviews is too... formal a word. As I said, this whole thing still needs a lot of work, and Steph T and I are handling it ourselves for now, as V is sporadically preoccupied with college so expecting her to work full time on this as well won't be fair.

Now, the 1st review (aiyaiyai i really gotta find an alternative word) will be on one of the newest books I bought from the Scholastic catalogue. I must admit I was pretty naive to think we were the only "school" to receive that catalogue. Let alone the selection be based on more Christian standards. -.- Yes, naive indeed. The book is called 21 Proms by David Levithan and Daniel Ehrenhaft. What a mouthful.

This book is basically a collaboration of 21 stories, all to do with prom at some point. There were only a handful of really good ones, such as the 1st, one about "pretending" to be drunk, a father's letter to his daughter, 3 prom dates, etc. And a smattering of gay, eyebrow-raising ones, including a twist on the partner being a um, primate. Then there were a few strange, weird, fence-sitting ones such as a Hawaiian speech sort of poem, getting an unlikely date just for the sake of being normal, and pretend prom at home with a neighbor while having chickenpox. Steph T currently has possession of this book, so I shall add the correct titles of the stories when she returns it. Haha. sounds like a *hint hint* moment.

On the whole, 21 Proms is one of my favorite books now. I'm a fan of David Levithan's collabos, such as PUSH: Stories from the Edge, which I might "review" in a much later post. Still in the making! Hope you readers like this little preview. =)
